Design Page Overview

One of the features that makes My Quilting Studio so user friendly is that all the designing is done on a single screen. There is no flipping back and forth between program modules to design and view the outcome of your creativity.

This guide will help you identify key areas of the Design Page.

At the very top of the Design Page is the Title Bar, which shows the design name, size, number of colors, stops and trims (see red arrow).

Directly underneath the Title Bar is the Menu Bar (blue broken arrow), which is a standard “task bar” found on Windows-based programs. The Menu Bar allows alternate access to program features as well as standard Windows features.

Work Page: The work page displays the design. A new work page can be opened with the New icon or from the File Menu Bar. Several work pages can be open at any one time; they are represented as tabs at the bottom of the Design Page. The current design on the work page shows an “X” next to the name. To switch between open designs, click on the design tab.

Thread/Color Selection: Colored boxes at the bottom of the Design Page display information about colors and threads for the design. See How to Change Colors for complete information.

Properties Box: This area in the upper right holds several tabs which display information about the selected design. For more information see Properties Box.

Tool Box: Several tabs located in the lower right area of the Design Page allow you to manage designs, add effects, access the manual and make purchases from the software platform. For more information see Tool Box.

Tool Bars are positioned along the top and left side of the Design Page. A separate “Floating Tool Bar” is at the top of the work page. These icons are used to manipulate the work page and the design. What the icons do and how to use them are explained throughout these help articles.

Rulers: Note the rulers along the top and left side of the work page. RIGHT CLICK anywhere on the ruler to change between metric and inches, manage the grid and guidelines, center the design and toggle “Snap to” commands.

Social Media Options

In the extreme lower right of the window are the Social Media Options. Click on any of the three social media icons (Facebook, X, or Pinterest) to share the active Design Page as an image and add comments. A user account and internet connection are required.
